DEDICATION - Since incorporation of Motion Metrics International in July 1999, it has been dedicated to implementing a range of specific products for mining shovels and haul trucks to address the challenging needs of the mining industry. We have seen firsthand how dangerous the mining environment can be and have made it our mission to make the mining environment safer. One accident is an accident too many. Our dedication has paid off for our customers as we have now saved them lives of their personnel and tens of millions of dollars over the last ten years by preventive catastrophic accidents using our advanced monitoring solutions for their Ground Engagement Tools (GET). Nearly all of our products were developed based on customer demands.

INNOVATION - As an innovator in mining technology, Motion Metrics is committed to providing the best products possible. We are constantly challenging ourselves to improve our products and to seek new opportunities where we can make a difference. Our products utilize the latest technologies in image processing, artificial intelligence, rock fragmentation analysis, robotics, estimation theories, and embedded system programming. The proprietary technologies developed at Motion Metrics are the result of continuous research, development, and field testing over the past 10+ years. We take pride in commercially offering innovative products in response to challenging requirements brought to us by our customers.

EXPERIENCE - Our products have been installed in various mines in North America, South America, Australia, Africa, Indonesia, and the Middle East. Our team of installation specialists has commissioned various combinations of our systems on mining shovels employed in copper, iron ore, gold, diamond, nickel, and platinum mining. Our customer portfolio consists of some of the mining industry's biggest names including BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Freeport-McMoRan, Newmont, Teck Resources, Anglo Platinum, Codelco, De Beers, and many more.

Dr. Shahram Tafazoli, President and CEO Motion Metrics International was founded by Dr. Shahram Tafazoli after graduation from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, in January 1997. The idea behind starting the company was to apply such advanced technologies as Robotics, Estimation, Image Processing, and Embedded Machine Vision to the heavy-duty industries. The company was incorporated in July 9, 1999 as Motion Metrics Inc. and the name was changed to Motion Metrics International Corp. in July 9, 2004, in order to better reflect the global nature of the business. Dr. Tafazoli is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia and sits on several board of directors.
Dr. Ajay Agrawal, Business Advisor Dr. Agrawal serves as a business advisor to Motion Metrics International Corp. He brings a wealth of knowledge with regards to strategy planning, commercialization and business development to the company. Dr. Agrawal is also a Peter Monk Professor of Entrereneurship at the Rotman School of Management in the University of Toronto.
Mr. Mehran Motamed, General Manager Mehran Motamed is Motion Metrics' general manager and reports to the CEO. He is responsible for all aspects of the company's operations and supervises all functional units to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the business. Mehran holds a master's degree in Robotics and Control Engineering and an M.B.A. from University of British Columbia.
