11 March 2009 - A major iron ore producer in Western Africa has chosen Motion Metrics's complete machine-vision product

Motion Metrics proudly announces that a major iron ore producer in Western Africa has chosen Motion Metrics's complete machine-vision product: the combined ToothMetricsTM + ViewMetricsTM + FragMetricsTM system for a P&H 2800 cable shovel. This represents Motion Metrics's first foray into the Western Africa region.

ToothMetricsTM automatically detects missing teeth to prevent crusher downtime and production interruptions. ViewMetricsTM integrates surveillance cameras views to the system to improve operation safety. FragMetricsTM features rock fragmentation analysis which is a valuable tool for the mine blasting engineers to improve the blasting patterns and parameters. The systems are combined together to provide a complete shovel monitoring solution at a fraction of the cost. Maintenance is minimized since three features share the same hardware platform.
