From April 30th to May 3rd, Motion Metrics was in beautiful Montreal for the CIM 2017 Convention. Held in a different Canadian city annually since 1899, the event was hosted by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, which is the leading technical society of professionals in the Canadian mining industry. This year minerals, metals, materials and energy professionals from around the world gathered at Montreal’s Palais de Congres to exchange ideas and experiences.
At our tradeshow booth we showcased all of our latest technologies including ShovelMetrics™, LoaderMetrics™, PortaMetrics™ and MetricsManager Pro™. As always, our shovel and loader models were the stars of the show and allowed us to demonstrate on an intimate scale how our innovative missing tooth detection systems operate in the field.
Motion Metrics director of business development Derek Cooper also hosted a well-received presentation, titled “Using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Automated Shovel Bucket Monitoring.” The talk explained the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in our ShovelMetrics™ solution, which is being used on over 240 shovels and excavators around the world.
Overall, the CIM 2017 Convention was a great success and we are already looking forward to next year’s event in Vancouver.
