Mantemin, Exposibram, Perumin 2015

September was a busy month for Motion Metrics. Over 3 weeks, our team visited Chile, Brazil and Peru attending various conferences, tradeshows and business meetings.

Mantemin – the 12th International Congress on Mining Maintenance is held annually in Santiago, Chile. This 3 day event features 60 presentations from 11 countries with a common goal: to present emerging technologies and showcase best practices in asset management within the mining industry. This year, Motion Metrics President and CEO Dr. Shahram Tafazoli had the opportunity to present his talk entitled: ‘Improving Maintenance and Support of Remote Systems Using Cloud Computing’. His presentation outlined the importance and relevance of providing remote support for mines worldwide. With a focus on the benefits of cloud computing and the technical requirements involved, the presentation was well-received, fielded a number questions and generated lively discussion. Chile provided a great opportunity to work closely with our employees in Santiago and share in recent product updates and innovation.

Exposibram – occurs every 2 years, featuring over 50,000 visitors and 500 exhibitors and is the largest mining tradeshow in Latin America. This year, the event was held Sep 14 – 17 in Belo Horizonte. Our agent in Brazil – Komatsu – played a significant role in orchestrating important business conversations and driving relevant traffic to our booth.

Perumin – the 32nd mining convention held in Arequipa, Peru welcomed over 100,000 visitors to share in Peru’s largest mining event. Held every 2 years, this event focuses on Peru’s large growing mining economy. From September 21st to 25th, our booth was lively with new and old customers sharing our latest product developments and achievements. With the help of our agent Almax, Peru was an exciting event for Motion Metrics and holds many prospects for future business endeavors.

With the support of our team in Chile and agents in Brazil and Peru, the South America shows were a great success and proved, yet again, to be a strong platform to showcase recent product advancements and interact with new and old customers. We look forward to further exciting business prospects in these regions.
