Motion Metrics Recognized for Fast-paced Growth and Cutting Edge Technology

Motion Metrics is honoured to announce that we have been chosen as a finalist for the 2017 British Columbia Export Awards in Advancing Technology and Innovation!

Presented jointly by the BC Ministry of Trade, Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME), and Business in Vancouver, the Export Awards have been British Columbia’s most prestigious accolade in the export community since 1982.  Motion Metrics was nominated for the award by Javed Haque, a Senior Manager at the BC Ministry of International Trade.

Selection criteria for the BC Export Awards include a sound capital base and working capital, demonstrated significant year-to-year growth or increased sales volume, demonstrated ability to overcome barriers to entry in new international markets, quality of export plan, and notable business growth overall because of export activities.

Although 95% of Motion Metrics’ revenue is attributable to exports, all our products are locally produced.  Headquartered at the University of British Columbia, all Motion Metrics research and development, hardware production, and business development is conducted in Vancouver to benefit the Canadian economy.  Motion Metrics systems have been installed on 300+ pieces of equipment in 80+ mining operations across six continents, and this fiscal year saw a 30% growth in revenue.  Our presence at 15+ international tradeshows annually, contributions to industry publications, and participation in the CanExport program highlight our continued dedication to exporting opportunities and international growth.

The final selection will take place on November 24th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Vancouver; guests will attend a networking reception and gala luncheon.  For the full list of BC Export Awards finalists, read here.
