Happy New Year everyone,
Welcome to our latest issue of the Motion Metrics Newsletter. In this issue, you will read about our exciting new product – PortaMetrics™, which has been receiving a lot of attention in the mining (blasting) industry. From the get go, I was very excited to embark on this project to develop a “game changing” product. PortaMetrics™ aims to make the mine/quarry face fragmentation sensing process as easy as point-and-shoot, which can provide the fragmentation profile in a matter of seconds. It is indeed a prime example of our company vision to “challenge the status quo” by leveraging advanced technology.
In this issue, you will also read about our Production Manager, Mr. David Huang’s visit to one of our customer mines in Peru back in September, 2014 to assist them with the installation and commission of our ShovelMetrics™ system. I remember in one of the classes that I took on soccer coaching, the instructor advised us to allow players to play in different positions so that they get a better feel of each role and always remind them of the team-based nature of the game. I feel that a business is the same as a team sport. So, when David approached me about his desire to go to this customer’s mine and deploy the systems, I immediately agreed and really liked the suggestion. I thought this will allow our production manager to see first-hand how the systems, which are put together by his department in Motion Metrics, are being installed, calibrated, and commissioned at the customer’s mine.
Please stay tuned for our future issues of the Newsletter. We have lots of exciting developments in 2015 and look forward to communicating them with you as the year unfolds. Stay safe.
