ViewMetricsTM
A Surveillance System for Mining Shovels
ViewMetricsTM provides the shovel operator with greater visibility around the shovel by providing up to four surveillance views. The system improves operation safety by displaying the left, right, and rear surveillance views of the shovel on a high-resolution LCD monitor mounted inside the cab.

Blind Spot Visibility

The left, right, and rear surveillance views, lets the shovel operator see what is around the shovel at all times.
Integrated Interface

The ViewMetricsTM system can be combined together with the ToothMetricsTM and FragMetrics systems in a seamlessly integrated interface.
Rugged Components

The surveillance cameras have been customized to use military specification connectors and are covered by an industry-leading, 5-year manufacturer's warranty.
Accident Prevention

Allowing the shovel operator to have a clear view of the area around the shovel prevents fatal accidents and costly equipment damage.
Optional Radar Detection

The RadarMetrics system is an optional addition to the ViewMetricsTM system which adds a series of radar sensors around the shovel to convey distance information to the operator.
What is ViewMetricsTM?

ViewMetricsTM is a digital camera surveillance system for mining shovels. It employs three rugged, heated, and wide-angle cameras to provide a clear view of left, right and rear to the operator. The cameras are backed by an industry leading 5 year warranty and have been extensively used for mining applications for several years.

How can you/your mine benefit from ViewMetricsTM?

  • Given the scale of blind spots on a typical mining shovel the need for a surveillance system is trivial
  • Other than preventing accidents many operators find ViewMetricsTM very useful in seeing the haul trucks and their locations with respect to the shovel
  • ViewMetricsTM enables the operators to be aware of the condition of the shovel power cable and other obstacles at all times
  • ViewMetricsTM seamlessly integrates into ToothMetricsTM, the shovel missing tooth detection system, and uses the same screen

Why is ViewMetricsTM the best solution?

  • ViewMetricsTM has established a strong reliability record by using the highest quality components and engineering
  • ViewMetricsTM cameras are of the most sensitive kinds in low-light conditions, and their wide view angles dramatically reduce the blind spots around the shovel
  • Any of the views can be zoomed to full screen by the touch of the operator
  • Shovel operators love it. Ask them why!

How does ViewMetricsTM work?

Rugged surveillance cameras are mounted on the left, right, and rear sides of the shovel. These cameras provide real-time video for the shovel operator to eliminate these well-known blind spots. The camera views are conveniently arranged on a single screen to acquire a complete view around the shovel in a glance. The user can also zoom into individual camera views, when it is necessary to take a closer look.

MPV100

The MPV100 Portable Viewer is a rugged LCD display device allowing to see the live camera view which is an extremely useful tool to have when adjusting and troubleshooting cameras.
RadarMetrics

RadarMetrics is an optional addition to the ViewMetricsTM system which adds a series of radar sensors around the shovel or other large machinery to convey distance information to the operator. This complete system enables the operator to be aware of dangerously close objects around the equipment at all times.
